Privacy Policy

SAELI LLC ("we," "us," or "the Company") establishes the following Privacy Policy ("this Policy") regarding the handling of personal information of users in connection with our websites, mobile applications, and other services ("the Services").

1. Information We Collect

• Information you provide when contacting us (name, email address, message content, etc.)
• Information automatically transmitted through app usage (device information, identifiers, logs, cookies, etc.)
• Information provided by payment processors when using in-app purchases or subscriptions (purchase tokens, subscription status, etc.)
• The "Appearance" notes entered in the app (a free-text description of your pet's physical traits)

2. Purpose of Use

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Services
• To respond to inquiries, verify identity, and prevent unauthorized use
• To measure and analyze usage, and improve quality (including storing the "Appearance" notes you enter and using them to improve the quality of the letter artwork)
• To comply with legal requirements or requests from public authorities

3. Third-Party Services and Data Collection

We may use the following third-party services for quality improvement, payment processing, and other purposes. These service providers may collect certain information for usage measurement and payment processing. Please refer to each provider's privacy policy for details.

• Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) — For ad delivery and measurement. Advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID) may be used. See Google Privacy Policy for details.
• Google (Google Play / Firebase, etc.)
• Apple (App Store / StoreKit, etc.) — For iOS app distribution
• Other services necessary for analytics, distribution, and payment processing

3-1. Use of Advertising Identifiers (iOS)

Our iOS apps may request permission to access the advertising identifier (IDFA) through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework for the purpose of delivering relevant advertisements. You can still use the app's core features without granting permission, but ads displayed may not be personalized.

3-2. Data Transmission to Generative AI Services such as "Google Gemini"

In our app "ペットロスに寄り添う毎日あの子" (Mainichi Anoko), pet-related information collected from users is sent to generative AI services such as "Google Gemini" (API) provided by Google LLC (California, USA) and others, solely for the purpose of generating letter texts and letter images.

Data transmitted and purpose of use

• Pet profile (name, species, gender, personality, favorite things, owner's nickname, appearance notes) — Used to generate letter text and images
• Pet photo — Used to generate letter images
• Answers to additional optional questions (e.g., favorite treats, walking routes) — Used as contextual input for letter text generation
• User-written reply text — Reflected in the next letter generation

User consent: On the first launch of the app, users are explicitly asked to consent to this data transmission. No data is sent without consent.

Data handling: The use of Google Gemini API is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Gemini API Terms of Service. When using the paid Gemini API, Google confirms that data submitted via the API is not used to train or improve Google's AI models. We have confirmed that Google provides data protection measures equivalent to or stronger than our own before adopting this service.

Data NOT transmitted: Personal information unrelated to the pet — such as the user's legal name, email address, device identifiers, or location data — is not sent to Google Gemini.

3-3. Pictures and Photos You Choose to Send When Remaking a Letter Picture

On the screen for remaking a letter picture, only if you turn on "Send this picture and my pet's photos", we store the picture before remaking, the remade picture, your registered pet photos, and your appearance notes on our server (Supabase). If you do not turn it on, nothing is stored.

Purpose: Used solely to improve image generation so that pictures look more like your pet. They are never made public or provided to third parties. To request deletion, please contact us using the details at the end of this policy.

4. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

We will not provide personal information to third parties without the user's consent, except as permitted by law.

5. Security

We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information and to ensure its security.

6. Disclosure, Correction, and Suspension of Use

If you wish to request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use of your personal data held by us, please contact us at hello@saeli.org. After verifying your identity, we will respond appropriately in accordance with applicable laws.

7. Minors

We ask that minors do not provide personal information without the consent of a parent or guardian. We may require parental consent verification when necessary.

8. Compliance and Revisions

We comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding personal information and will review and improve this Policy as appropriate.
